Welcome to XospheriX.com. My name is Ian and producing music is my life. I started playing producing back in 1996 on an Amiga 500 and Noise tracker/Sound Tracker and moved to a PC and Note editing software. I couldn't play the keyboard or anything back then except for a few basic melodies so I was just note arranging. In 1997 I purchased my 1st synthesizer/music workstation and Korg Trinity with built in Moss board. I taught myself to play the keyboard and then really got into synths and sound design.
I went on to get a Korg Triton, Roland jp8000, Yamaha Rm1x, Virus TI, Korg Triton Extreme, Roland Gaia and it was all hardware sequenced from the Triton.
I produce mainly Trance, EDM and Drum n Bass. These days I'm all software apart from a couple of controllers. I now use Ableton Live 11, Sylenth, Spire, Serum, Fabfilter, Ozone, Voxengo Elephant, Plugins plus many more.
Hardware wise I use the Novation Peak. Ableton Push 2, Komplete Kontron S61 Mk2, Behringer TD-3 and Scarlett 8i6 and a Strat.
My go to synths for sound design have to be either the peak or serum. With Serum its so easy to have a sound in your head and to be able to sculpt it into living form so quickly.
The most used VST has to be Fab filter ProQ3 its an amazing EQ and gets used on all my channels, quick nice sounding and dynamic EQ is a lifesaver.
Compression I use either the Ableton Stock Cymatics Glue, Fabfilter Pro C, Waves DBX160 (for bass).
Music production has come such a long way. I love music, I love making music and I love it when people listen and like it. I've also started making a few videos on production techniques that I've learnt throughout the years.
So if you do like the tunes. Please let me know. It makes it all the more worthwhile.
